ALEX DOWER
CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Alex has won acclaim for his work with prisoners, refugees, orphans, children with disabilities and with people with severe mental health issues. He is an award-winning theater and film director; and founder of Creating Freedom. He trained with Sam Kogan who created the School of the Science of Acting.
MARIANNE COMPARET
STRATEGIC DIRECTOR
Marianne has an academic background in Development Economics, and has previously worked at the World Trade Institute in Bern, the emerging markets division of Citibank and at JP Morgan before joining The Economist Newspaper as an Economist/Statistician. Currently, Marianne is co-founder and Director at the International Society for Neglected Tropical Diseases, based in London. She is interested in bringing together acting and film tools to tackle some of the world's most pressing development and health challenges. She has lived in Jakarta, Paris and London.
KAMRAN RAFIQ
PARTNERSHIPS DIRECTOR
Kamran has an academic background in Pharmacology & Toxicology as well as Neuroscience. He has worked as a research scientist at Schering-Plough Research Center in Milan, Italy, working on neuropeptides and novel mechanisms of pain transmission and Parkinson’s Disease modelling. Upon returning to the UK he worked for Reuters Business Insights setting up their drug discovery intelligence unit, and then as Sales Director for Datamonitor being an integral part of the acquisition and subsequent integration of the Life Science Analytics company and then as Managing Director at Global Data overseeing both Pharma/Biotech and Medical Device Diagnostics market teams. Kamran is now cofounder and Communications Director at the International Society for Neglected Tropical Diseases, and is passionate about combining his experience and knowledge of the health sector with creative approaches to tackle some of the most challenging issues in public health and patient engagement.
